RPCK (Roman’s Pizza Central Kitchen), based in Centurion is looking for a strategic and hands-on Production Manager to lead our Meal Section in Gauteng. You will oversee the end-to-end production of our ready-to-heat meals, ensuring we maintain our reputation for quality, efficiency, and safety
Duties & Responsibilities
The Role at a Glance
As the Production Manager, you will report to the General Manager of RPCK and take full ownership of daily operations—from planning and portioning to packing and chilling. You will balance high-volume execution with strategic planning to drive growth and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Plan and oversee daily production schedules while incorporating sales forecasts to meet demand spikes.
Efficiency & Innovation: Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and identify opportunities for automation.
Quality & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to HACCP, ISO, and local food safety legislation, ensuring constant audit readiness.
People Development: Supervise and mentor a large production team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Financial Oversight: Contribute to budget planning, manage resource allocation, and provide performance reports to executive leadership.
Maintenance & Supply Chain: Collaborate with maintenance for equipment uptime and procurement for timely ingredient availability
Desired Experience & Qualification
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Education: A Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Production Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in food manufacturing or meal production management, specifically within high-volume environments.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of food production processes, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead large teams, excellent stakeholder engagement, and a problem-solving orientation.
Tools: Proficiency in MS Office and production management systems.
